Free Style Friday. Using what you’ve learned create a collage of your favorite things. Fill the document page. Change the opacity, add strokes, etc. to make the images “stand-out” from each other. Use school appropriate items only. Save in your free style folder as: “Things I Like” Document size: 8.5 x 11

Create an ad/cover for one of the following, your choice: Book cover or CD cover for an Artist/ Band. Your Ads must be a design of your own researched internet-photos, quotes, and titles totally from scratch. Your Ads must be school appropriate. The following requirements for each ad are listed below:
Book or CD cover ( 5/18 – 5/21)
- Document size 8.5 x 11
- A background—(your original: one you’ve created)
- A photo (may have smaller photos that shows other artists or the Book Author included on the Cover)
- A Title
- A Quote——“this can to be your own made up Quote or a quote from the book or a song.
- Must be at least 9 layers
- Be creative (design, styles, etc.)
- Save document as “Book Cover or CD Cover ” in your Magazine folder.

You’ve been hired by Cooper Ad Agency to produce 2 ads. One will be a food product and the other one will be a travel ad for a country of your choice. Your Ads must be a design of your own researched internet-photos, quotes, and titles totally from scratch. Your Ads must be school appropriate. The following requirements for each ad are listed below:
Food Ad ( 5/11 – 5/13)
- Document size 8.5 x 11
- A background—(your original: one you’ve created)
- A Food photo (may have smaller photos that shows other foods or artists included in the Ad)
- A Title
- A Quote——“this has to be your own made up Quote for the food product” Not what you’ve already seen.
- Must be at least 9 layers
- Be creative (design, styles, etc.)
- Save document as “Food Ad” in your Magazine folder.
Travel (5/13 – 5/15)
- Document size 8.5 x 11
- A background—(your original: one you’ve created)
- A Country of your choice to visit.
- A Title
- The pictures/text in the ad must show the reader things about the country and why it’s a great place to visit
- A Quote——“this has to be your own made up Quote for the Country. ” Not what you’ve already seen.
- Must be at least 9 layers
- Be creative (design, styles, etc.)
- Save document as “Travel Ad” in your Magazine folder.

You need to design a Music Soundtrack cover using Adobe Photoshop for the Movie Poster you created earlier. Your Music cover can be based off of an existing Music cover but design your own photos, title and song titles or create your own music cover totally from scratch. . Your Music-soundtrack cover must be school appropriate.
Save this document as: Soundtrack Cover in the MAGAZINE Folder.
Your document must have:
- Document size 8.5 x 11
- A background
- A cover photo (may have smaller photos to show other artists included on the soundtrack)

- All songs on the Movie Soundtrack
- Issue date
- Issue price

Your Music-soundtrack cover will be graded on if you included the above elements and how you carry out Unity in your soundtrack cover.
_____Unity can be achieved by carrying out a common theme in the type styles, photos, story titles and descriptions. Do all the parts work together?
_____Think about readability, can you read the type against the background? Is the type style readable? Are the sentences too long? Are the titles descriptive enough to make you know what the article is about? Does the type size signify the importance?
_____Does the photo or photos support the theme? Does the photo catch your eye? Is it too busy or too simple?
_____How is your effort and craftsmanship? You will need to be selecting, cutting, pasting and cropping. Does your cover look professionally neat?
_____Layout, how did you arrange all the elements? Is the type all lined up flush left, right, centered? Is the type over the picture or a background? Did you add a banner with the issue date, web site, and cost? Does the layout make it easy to read or confusing?

You need to design a magazine cover using Adobe PhotoShop. Your magazine cover can be based off of an existing magazine, for example use the layout and name of Teen magazine, but design your own photos, titles and story lines, or create your own magazine totally from scratch, around an interest you have. For example, create a magazine based on Animals, Shopping, Sports, Fashion, Music,or Fossils, etc. Your magazine cover must be school appropriate.
Go to your Magazine Ad folder and rename the folder “MAGAZINE” save this document as: Magazine Cover in the MAGAZINE Folder.
